Whether you’re indulging in a festive feast or a casual lunch, Harvester - George delivers a unique blend of hospitality and flavor.
As a food reviewer, I've heard mixed feedback about the experience at Harvester - George, but that only adds to the intrigue. Customers rave about the warm and friendly staff who create a welcoming ambiance, despite some mention of close seating arrangements that can lead to a bustling atmosphere. The restaurant's commitment to accommodating dietary restrictions is commendable; they promptly inquire about allergies, ensuring everyone enjoys their meal safely.
- Starters: Expect a range of appealing starters, consistently praised for their taste. Diners have particularly enjoyed the variety offered, which sets the stage for a satisfying meal.
- Salad Bar: A highlight for many is the free salad bar available with main meals. It boasts a clean and organized setup, featuring an extensive selection that caters to various dietary preferences.
- Main Courses: The mains can be hit or miss, with reports of dishes being flavorful yet underwhelming at times. While some have found the Turkey and feather blade beef enjoyable, there were complaints about undercooked vegetables that detracted from the dining experience.
- Value for Money: Some patrons feel the pricing can be on the steeper side for the quality received, particularly with certain main courses described as lacking sophistication.
In my culinary exploration of Harvester - George, I found the Kansas chicken a tad simplistic, yet the vibrant array of dishes calls for more adventurous options. The burgers have received rave reviews and are a must-try according to many, while the crispy chips have also captured hearts with their perfect balance of crunchy exterior and fluffy interior.
Overall, Harvester - George offers a blend of community spirit and a hearty menu, making it a worthwhile visit. Whether you're gathering for a festive occasion or seeking a cozy meal with friends, this spot is geared towards ensuring you feel right at home. Book a table ahead of time to secure your experience and prepare for a lively atmosphere filled with food, friends, and plenty of good cheer.

Came here for Christmas dinner. Service was a little slow but it was relatively busy. All starters were nice, the Turkey meat on the main was good but limited roast potatoes and all vegetables were undercooked. I had the feather blade beef which was nice. I had plenty of roast potatoes with well cooked and tasty parsnips and carrots but the sprouts and peas again were undercooked. The beef dripping gravy was delicious. Apple pie desserts were nice and not too sweet. The lemon roulade dessert was nice but exceptionally sweet. Three course Christmas meal was £pp and a little over priced I think for what you got. We enjoy Harvester as a pub restaurant on a usual basis but I don’t think I’ll be returning for Christmas dinner. Crackers were provided on every table which was a nice added touch.

Lovely place to eat, staff are lovely. Tables are quite close together so can be very loud at times. I would recommend booking in advance. Quite steep stairs to the restaurant or a long double storey ramp.Vegetarian options: In addition to vegetarian meals there is also the free salad bar that you have access too also.Dietary restrictions: We were asked about allergies as soon as we sat down to eat.Parking: Lots of parking however does have busier periods as shared with the Travelodge next door. Parking is free as long as you put your car reg in the console in reception.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Long double storey ramp on the way into restaurant afterwards all level access

Nice atmosphere, food looked great but let down by taste. Burger was very nice, I'd recommend that. Rib was poor, my child only had a bite if kids pizza and didn't want to eat anymore. Chips were nice and crispy on the outside fluffy inside. The salad bar was great too, nice selection, came free with main meals. We love the selection of sauces available, not just the regular ketchup and bbq sauces but hot chilli, peri peri sauces were great.Big car park and lots spaces, need to register the reg no in the restaurant. If you want a quick and easy bite, this is good place.
